About Trip Tracka

Built by travellers, for travellers.

Trip Tracka was created by us, Craig and Karissa, while travelling full-time with our family in our car and caravan.

Like many travellers, we set off wanting to make the most of every kilometre — to explore more places, keep track of where we had been, understand what we were spending, and share our journey with family, friends and other travellers along the way.

But once we were on the road, we quickly realised how much information there was to manage.

Where did we stay last month?
How much did that section of the trip cost?
Where was that amazing lookout someone recommended?
What fuel economy were we getting?
Where did we buy that part, camping item, or piece of gear?
How do we share our trip map without sending screenshots or messy notes?

Karissa has always loved a good Excel spreadsheet, so from the beginning she documented every dollar we spent. Fuel, groceries, accommodation, eating out, activities, maintenance, gear — it all went into a spreadsheet.

And while spreadsheets worked, they were not always simple, fast, or easy to share.

We also loved helping other travellers by sharing the places we had visited, the stays we found, the attractions we enjoyed and the lessons we learnt along the way. But sharing travel information through Facebook groups, screenshots, messages and scattered notes often became frustrating.

Sometimes we would ask for ideas in a certain area and get limited responses. Other times we would discover great places but forget to save them properly. We would take screenshots, write notes, save posts, bookmark websites, and still struggle to find everything again when we needed it.

That is why we built Trip Tracka.

Why Trip Tracka exists

Trip Tracka was created to make travel planning and trip tracking easier for real people on real trips.

Trip Tracka is a travel planner and trip expense tracker for people who want to plan routes, build budgets, track fuel, manage gear, record expenses and share trips — anywhere in the world. It is designed for holidaymakers, road trippers, backpackers, families, group trips, caravanners, campers, solo travellers and digital nomads alike.

We wanted one simple place where travellers could:
